Dr. Syed Abid Mahmood, OSD Zakat Foundation of India, visited Mercy Home (Medical Facility) at Zalpora, Sonawari in Bandipora. The facility is jointly run by Zakat Foundation of India and Ehsaas International.
During his visit, he interacted with Doctor, patients and local volunteers and listened carefully to their concerns. The local community raised a demand for the deployment of a dedicated nurse at the health centre. Responding positively, Dr. Syed Abid Mahmood assured full support and cooperation in addressing this need.
The people expressed deep gratitude for the consistent healthcare support being provided over the past seven years. It is pertinent to mention that Mercy Home Zalpora was established in 2019 through the joint efforts of Zakat Foundation of India and Ehsaas International. Located in a neglected and underserved area, the facility has emerged as a vital lifeline, especially in the absence of nearby hospitals and pharmacies, ensuring accessible medical care for the local population.
