Ehsaas international inaugurated modernistic Skill Development Tailoring centre in Sonawari Bandipora
Ehsaas International in line with its vision in carrying forward the mission of Skill development & human development started opened the doors of high tech Tailoring centre in Rakhi Sultanpora, Sonawari on 5th Jan ‘23. The tailoring centre is the first of its kind located in the farthest of geographies of Bandipora. The area of Rakhi Sultanpora has a weak & inaccessible background and the community lives in downtrodden conditions.
People living face hardships in the most crucial aspects of life including education, means of livelihoods and other basic needs including the arena of skill training.
On the Inaugural, we had the gracious presence of Dr. Shafquat Ara, Principal Govt. Polytechnic for Women. She inaugurated the centre and added to the pleasantness of the occasion. The event was attended by Chairman & General Secretary of Ehsaas International.
The Centre is registered for self employed tailoring extension centre of Community Development through Polytechnics (CDTP) Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar. Department of Skill Development, Government of UT Jammu & Kashmir
The equipments of the project are sponsored by Sajjadiyya Trust Canada through Imamia Education & Welfare Trust Banglore and shall be executed and run by Ehsaas Trust International.
For the starting of the project, 30 students have been selected who shall undergo 6 months training. The curriculum & syllabus is designed as per the National Council of Training in Vocational Trades (NCTVT) Govt of India.
The locals especially women appreciated the initiative and hope to have some rightful skills in order to empower themselves & earn their livelihood in the future. The project will eventually lead to the Women Empowerment, Skill Development & contribute to the economic development of the area.
Aligned with the Global Goals, this project shall help in targeting the SDG 1, 5, 8, 9, 10 & 17.
Its is pertinent to mention Ehsaas International has several projects in this area which includes Community Excellence Centres, Project Tube well etc.
