The program is oriented to understand the rich cultural heritage of Iran which has a strong impact on Kashmiri society. Most of our cultural ethics and societal background comes from Iran encompassing languages to crafts, skills and culinary experiences. Kashmir and Iran have been sharing strong platforms of historical Silk Route which has unprecedented role in our history.
Iran has made a deep mark on the cultural, demographic and political landscape through vernacular houses, arts and crafts, and traditional shrines in Kashmir. The Mughals also introduced the notion of Paradise Gardens into Kashmir, an idea highly indebted to Iran both in its concept and form. It is during the reign of Sultan Sikander in late 14th century (1393-1419 AD) that we witnessed the construction of the new Jamia Masjid under the supervision of Mir Sayyed Mohammed Hamdani, the illustrious son of Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, popularly known as Shah-e-Hamadan.
Further the program will give the participants a chance to experience the society where two main factions of Islamic Ummah live in harmony and brotherhood allowing coexistence of both.
A successful tour of same nature and aim was conducted in year 2018 which was participated by intellectuals of Kashmir viz doctors, academicians, advocates and professionals.
