International Volunteerism Day Celebrated by Ehsaas International & Dard Welfare with Wall Of Kindness
Ehsaas Trust International & Dard Welfare Society celebrated International Volunteerism Day, wherein hundreds of fresh apparels were donated to the “Wall of Kindness” which is being managed and regulated by Er. Sheikh Adil near polo veiw Srinagar. This initiative taken by Police officer is to act as a bridge between the giver and the taker without compromising anyone’s dignity. There are many people who don’t want to come forward asking for clothes and this is a discreet way to help each other,” said Er.Sheikh Adil. He thanked both the organizations who came forward to support this noble initiative.
Fresh apparels which include 500 winter coats(pheran), 100 jackets and pantaloons were donated to ensure help to the poor people with dignity. On the occasion General Secretary, Dard Welfare Society, Vaqar Gani Tantray appreciated the efforts of Er. Sheikh Aadil for such a nobel initiative and requested the people to come forward to donate. Hakim Mohammad Ilyas, General Secretary Ehsaas Trust International also spoke about the initiative and congratulate the organizers of the initiative. He promised more help to this great initiative. He also admired volunteers on *International volunteerism day*.
“This day is an opportunity for everyone to promote volunteerism, encourage governments to support volunteer efforts, and recognise their role in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals”, said Mursal Bhat, who is volunteering with Ehsaas International.
Mahvish Rashid, Team Leader of Ehsaas International thanked the volunteers who have worked at the forefront of Health, Community and Social responses. It is a worldwide moment to thank these volunteers for their efforts despite all the challenges, said another volunteer Fazeelat Hussain.
