Ehsaas International along with two of the responsible organizations named J&K Eco Watch & YPJK has adopted a village located in the interiors of Dal Lake to be turned Green, Clean & eventually Eco friendly on pilot basis.
Sofi Mohalla, Dal Lake is a small island village consisting of around 15 families, accessible only from the water route, situated in a very fragile & prudent ecosystem of the valley. The project has been conceptualized in alignment with the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals, National Programme of Green India Mission & Valley’s Smart & Sustainable Citywide Program. The village can set an example for replicating the Green model & serve to be a pilot project to be taken forward on a large scale. Many noted social activists including Ghulam Hassan Gazi, Patron, Ehsaas International, Advocate Nadeem Qadri, Head YPJK, Syed Rohoullah, Syed Tabasum Geelani & Hakim Mohd Ilyas, Trustees Ehsaas International were present.
Apart from educating the villagers about the new concept of Sustainability & the project, Eid gifts & Ration kits were also distributed. This motivated the village community to pledge their deep commitments towards the vision & mission of the program.
In addition, Ehsaas International has introduced its Free Coaching Centre Educational Mission with a library service in the said area. Ehsaas International along with the supporting organisations looks forward towards providing access to clean & adequate water, basic education, good healthcare, hygienic sanitation in the future.
