“Dial-a-Doctor” program was launched for the general public to get access to quality health consultations and services without leaving the four walls of their houses. This was conceptualized keeping in view that hospitals are high-risk places for the contraction of Covid-19 disease and many medical ailments can be managed by telephonic consultations thus avoiding visit of patients to hospitals. To provide doorstep health services in J&K, around 6000 consultations have been provided under the initiative. Dial-a-Doctor is a joint initiative of Kashmir Health Care Support Group (A Kashmiri Doctors Group), Ehsaas International and Dard Welfare Society. Under this initiative, more than 300 doctors from countries like the USA, UK, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Kashmir from different specialties/sub-specialties provide 24×7 voluntary health services to the people of J&K.
To ensure timely disposal of queries, a control room managed by doctors and paramedical staff have been set up with a Toll-Free No 1800 889 2729 backed with 10 lines at the back end to avoid any inconvenience caused to the patients. This service is being delivered with the approval of the Health & Medical Education Department, Government of J&K. It has brought a sigh of relief to the patients who don’t have to undergo risk-laden visits to the hospitals for ailments other than Covid.
The doctors associated with the initiative readily agreed to offer their selfless services and were restlessly providing their expertise by managing the patients through telemedicine consultations. It was the opportune time for us to contribute towards our society and we would do our level best to ease the difficulties of our people. Considering the response from doctors and beneficiaries, we aim to continue this service post-pandemic as well.

My rendezvous with Ehsaas Trust International was incidental, when I had the first interaction with its leadership during an informal chat when some likeminded persons tried to come together to facilitate health care during trying times of 2016. Thereupon I came to understand the activities of Ehsaas Trust International during their Ramadhan Meets where they used to showcase their wide ranging performance and innovative interventions in education, skill development, health care, basic needs and related philanthropist activities.
This year with the declaration of SARS CoV-2 / COVID pandemic, a friend of mine and a consultant at Government Dental College, Srinagar suggested me how to prepare personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care providers as there was shortage of PPE due to surge of demand. However, it couldn’t materialize as it needed lot of financial and material support with skilled persons to prepare bulk quantity. Amidst this situation the name that struck my mind was Ehsaas Trust International as their value based performance was always remarkable. We sat together and worked out a preliminary plan. We met Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, the summer capital’s deputy commissioner and chairman, district disaster management authority who’s proactive support and trust catalysed and brought something incredible. The production of thousands of PPE and masks and their meticulous distribution to various hospitals and health centres across Kashmir brought laurels to Ehsaas Trust International on one end and aided to tide over the crises of ever increasing demand of PPE by health care providers.
During these demanding times, Ehsaas Trust International proved very vital in bringing much succour and relief to the health system in COVID mitigation and infection prevention among health care providers across various vital health care institutions.
On behalf on health care providers, I express our gratitude to Ehsaas Trust International for their timely support and care.
Wishing a grandeur success to Ehsaas Trust International in achieving their mission.

With deepest Gratitude towards Ehsaas Trust International i would like to portray the feeling of being part as coordinator of ” Dial a Doctor” service. It was wonderful experience to coordinate with doctors across the globe who provided their precious time to serve humanity. Ehsaas is the platform which made me to excel more in my field and helped me to come out with the flying colors. I was on the task to manage roster of doctors and data base of patients. I am highly thankful to the trust for recognizing me to be a part of this wonderful Non-Profitable helpline service project. As this trust not only webbed the hardcore medical professionals they even provided Oxygen concentrators to the covid positive patients and screened vulnerable people for spo2 level. Doctors across the globe, officials of J&K and everyone else who played there parts to make this service successful were the real pillars. Being a coordinator of this helpline service I extend my thanks to everyone who worked in this project. May God provide us more Strength to serve everyone who is in need of Medical help and other educational help not in the state but in our nation and across the globe.

The Pandemic caught the health sector around the world unprepared when it reached in the valley, we straightaway knew it is going to be an uphill task, lives were at risk and there was no room for complacency, we could use help from anywhere possible.
In such hard times, Ehsaas Trust International showed up, it worked with the health department hand in hand, making sure that our doctors, health workers, and the front line workers were very well equipped and protected while fighting Corona Virus hands on. Ehsaas provided us with protective gear that would help us every time our staff was working in the hospitals, quarantine centers, and everywhere else.
I on behalf of myself and the fraternity thank Ehsaas who stepped up in their work in the most effective of ways, provided us with numberless protective gear for our operations in hospitals and other places.
Covid_19 brought with itself numberless challenges everywhere in the world, we too are facing the pandemic head on, the times are difficult, we in the adminstration are working tirelessly to counter it.
It is not possible for one department alone to keep up with this fight, we have had some really meaningful contributions in this course from organizations that stepped up in this need or the hour, Ehsaas Trust International definitely stands out, with their sheer will and dedication the organization was able to extend their help especially with the safety gears that were then used by the doctors and other frontline workers.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to Ehsaas Trust International for their positive role in the pandemic and wish them success for their future endeavors.
