A major project, first of its kind in Kashmir, was started in 2015 under which tube wells were dug in various remote villages of Kashmir where there was no source of clean water and population was compelled to use dirty and foul water for drinking and other domestic chores. The areas were suffering for need of water since decades and used to collect water from dirty rivulets. These areas were caught up in various water borne diseases for lack of drinking water. Ehsaas Trust acted as responsible implementation partner while as project was funded by IMRC – USA. Till now more than 50 wells have been dug and are being constantly maintained.
