Ehsaas launches Valley Wide Awareness Program on Women Health and Hygiene

Ehsaas International takes pride to launch its versatile Program aimed at women health and hygiene. The program named as “Panien Fiekir” – let’s care about ourselves” shall be an awareness initiative highlighting use and proper disposal of sanitary pads among female masses of society.

There is large population of females in the valley who are not aware of use of sanitary pads whereas there are many who have this awareness but are reluctant to use it because of Many reasons. At the same time it was found that a good number of females do not have financial means to buy and use sanitary pads this risking their health.

Under this initiative we intend to provide awareness about use of sanitary pads and it’s proper disposal and will provide sanitary pads free of cost in areas where the concept of its use is new to people. Subsequently pads will be made available at subsidized rates so as to encourage females to use it. Also social taboos attached to this concern of females will be addressed with help from religious preachers.

The program has been initiated in association with Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Govt Medical College, Srinagar who will provide expert and technical help.

The program will be kick started with the first awareness camp at village Zalpora Sumbal Sonawari of district bandipora on 28th April, sunday at 10:00AM.
