In its endeavor to stand with the society and government to curb the menace of drug addiction, Center for Peace and Justice (CPJ) on Wednesday organized a round-table discussion on drug addiction by bringing together people from administration, academia and health profession.
The session was chaired by Shahid Choudhary, IAS, District Magistrate cum DDC Srinagar and other panelists. A threadbare discussion was held wherein various possible means of curbing drug menace in valley were discussed.
Ehsaas international, represented by Hakim Mohammad Ilyas, General Secretary, forwarded suggestion to hold drug awareness sessions in various schools and coaching centres of valley as Ehsaas has already conducted more then 30 such sessions in association with Arnimal foundation. Ehsaas while agreeing to volunteer to conduct more such sessions requested DC Srinagar for his support to which he agreed in affirmative and promised all support. Ehsaas was hailed by all presentees for their efforts in this regard.
The program was aimed at bringing together various stakeholders and citizens to end the menace of drug addiction in the valley.
On the occasion, the panelist shared their perspectives on drug addiction and sought feedback from the participants.
Meanwhile, DC Srinagar assured all possible support from the administration on tackling the issue of drug addiction.
