Ehsaas International was invited for Preparation of dossier for inclusion of Srinagar city in (UNESCO) United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) creative cities network 2019.
On behalf of J&K state government INTACT Kashmir in collaboration with DRONAH foundation is formulating a comprehensive dossier for the inclusion of Srinagar city in United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) creative cities network 2019 as a city of crafts and folk arts.
The meeting was moderated by Saleem Beg, Director INTACH followed by day long discussion by Iftikhar Ahmad Kakroo Director JTFRP World Bank Project, Zubair Karmani Director Craft development Institute, Prof N.A Nadeem Kashmir University. Syed Tabasum Geelani Chairman Ehsaas International, Hakim Mohammad Ilyas General Secretary Ehsaas International. The meeting was attended by veteran artisans and craftsman practising various arts in the way. Both representatives from Ehsaas appraised the stakeholders about steps taken by Ehsaas towards revival of Pashmina Craft. The need for improved wages for artisans and social security for them was also emphasised on and was acknowledged by all stakeholders and organisers. It was also reiterated and thrusted upon to have versatile advertising and awareness campaigns in regard to GI marking of Pashmina on what Ehsaas in already working and have created an e-commerce website shop.ehsaasinternational.com
