Born in a syed family belonging to Geelani Dynasty which connects back to a world reknown Islamic scholar of the South-Asia, Sheikh Syed Abdul QadirJeelani, whose mausoleum is situated in city of Baghdad in present day Iraq. Centuries ago, one of the grand sons of Sheikh Syed Abdul QadirJeelani migrated to India in regard to propagation of Islam and hence the Geelani (Jeelani) dynasty sprouted in India and eventually in Kashmir. His forefathers has been preachers of Islam in particular and worldly education in general in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Professionally he is a healthcare worker but now shifted from clinical practice to academics of the same. He has completed Post Graduation in Medical Laboratory Science and after serving in diagnostic industry in capital of India – Delhi for many years, shifted to serve in Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman, afterwards joined Govt Service in Technical Education Dept, J&K Govt as lecturer in Polytechnic.
